EOT Overhead Crane
EOT Overhead Crane stands for Electric Overhead Travelling Crane. It is a type of crane used in industries and warehouses to lift and move heavy materials from one place to another inside a building.
Description
An EOT overhead crane runs on rails fixed on the top beams of a building. It moves along the length and width of the workshop to lift and transport heavy loads using a hoist and hook. The crane is operated using a remote control or a pendant control.
Main Parts of an EOT Crane
Bridge (Main Beam) – The horizontal beam that moves along the runway.
End Carriages – Wheels that allow the crane to travel on rails.
Hoist – The lifting mechanism with motor, rope, and hook.
Trolley – Moves the hoist left and right on the bridge.
Hook – Used to lift the load.
Control System – Pendant or remote used to operate the crane.
Types of EOT Cranes
Single Girder EOT Crane – Uses one main beam and is used for medium loads.
Double Girder EOT Crane – Uses two beams and is used for very heavy loads.
