A Double Girder EOT (Electric Overhead Traveling) Crane is a heavy-duty crane used in factories, warehouses, steel plants, and workshops to lift and move heavy materials. It has two bridge girders that support the trolley and hoist, allowing it to lift heavier loads compared to a single girder crane.
Main Parts of Double Girder EOT Crane
- Bridge Girder
- Two strong steel girders that span across the building and support the crane system.
- Hoist / Trolley
- A moving unit placed on the girders that carries the hoist.
- End Carriage
- The lifting mechanism used to raise and lower heavy loads.
- Runway Beam
- Wheels and frame at both ends of the girders that move the crane along the runway beam.
- Control System
- Steel beam installed on the building columns on which the crane travels.
- The crane is operated using a pendant control or remote control.
Working Movement of EOT Crane
A double girder EOT crane moves in three directions:
Long Travel – The crane moves along the runway beam.
Cross Travel – The trolley moves across the bridge girders.
Hoisting – The hook moves up and down to lift the load.
